about

Written & recorded between various bedrooms, kitchens & bathrooms in the Irish midlands, this work was written as an UNOFFICIAL accompaniment to the Clive Barker short story "THE LAST ILLUSION" from BOOKS OF BLOOD which follows our protagonist Private Investigator, Harry D'Amour in a mystery that will take him from New York to Las Vegas and eventually to the very edge of Hell itself.

This work claimed 2nd place fin the 'Free Creation' category at the 15th Jerry Goldsmith awards, in 2023.

This e.p. is for Denika McClean, my heart & soul, who didn't mind me having microphones, wires and guitars all over various kitchens and bedrooms. And Norma Jean, who let me know how horrible it all was with her endless barking, giving out and persistent cuddles.

BIG thanks in no particular order:

My Ma, Kathleen Vaughan - who raised this wonderful weird kid, kept him safe and blessed him with love, food and the best and most eclectic of music tastes. Also Seán for keeping her sane (ish)

My brothers and sisters, Susan, Fíona, Ciara, Will, Patrick & James. Much love always, I'd need a book of thanks for you guys but I only have limited space. Will gets an extra shoutout, he actually bought this e.p. In fact, before anyone else did. (hint, hint siblings!)

A big shout out To Ken Colton who was more sure of this work than I ever was and is always full of endless encouragement.

Tom Nelligan, best friend and songwriter par excellence.
James Cruickshank, best friend and beer drinker par excellence.

Da, Aidan McClean. Who laughed at my first recordings and still has them (Cringe). We aren't the best at keeping in touch, but you are always there when called upon in a heartbeat.

My uncle - Denis McClean, a constant source of encouragement.

Pijus, the first man to utilise one of these pieces in a game, A genuinely lovely man.

For Bill, I've not forgotten you.

And to anyone else, I've not forgotten you. I'm running out of wor.....
