about

As a kid, Johann Strauss II's music on cassette more often than not, ended up playing in the family car. Not that we are a pretentious family. Music is massive in the family home and anything from Strauss to T-Rex to Pavarotti is a given. Pretty eclectic. But the Strauss part will always give away my love and penchant for writing 3/4 time waltzes. Not that I'm fit to place my name in that pantheon, nor am I trying to!

Also, art has a huge influence on what I write and as an individual, I've always been drawn to the more macabre, even disturbing kind which grew from a love of Francis Bacon's art. On Instagram, I discovered William Basso who is a fantastic artist. His piece "Il Carnevale della Morte" immediately grabbed me and this piece of music was the result.

You can find him on Instagram. @williambasso_art

I highly recommend you do.
